School Meals
Program Assistance

The National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program provide per-meal cash reimbursements to help schools provide nutritious meals to children. Household income is used to determine whether a child will receive a reduced-price or free meal. All public and non-profit private schools and all residential care institutions can participate in the program.

To be eligible for school meals, parents must:

  1. Apply to their child's school (the same application will cover both lunch and breakfast.)

  2. Meet household income limits.

Each school system is required to provide an application to each student in the school district. For more information, call your child's school or visit: www.alsde.edu
